MASTERS --- T R E M E N D O U S ---
Just a brief report on the Masters contest prior to
bedtime....(full details later). 36 Entries (35
pilots)....one great guy who entered just for the fellowship
and judged and worked and feasted at the banquet.
Modeling needs more folks like NSRCA Dist 3 VP and
full-fledged SPA member Bill Harden of Decatur, AL.
Gracious, Bill.
KCRC's orange carpet has never been lusher and more
hospitable in all their years of hosting great
events....than this one. They really did reach the
epitome of hospitable efforts on this one. Knoxville's
Chamber of Commerce provided IDEAL weather. It
couldn't have been better than this week-end at the
"South's Most Scenic Flying Site".
Five rounds of really good flying....mucho fellowship...good
grub....the week-end just didn't last long enough! You
know what they say about "time flying when----------,
it did"!
More later....gotta go unload the car and get ready for
Monday. Gosh, don't you wish we could back up the
clock and relive this past weekend? If I could, I would have
slowed down when I failed to notice that Tennessee Trooper
in the construction area of Pellissippi Parkway while trying
to find Illinois Avenue in Oak Ridge. He was a nice Trooper
tho, he gave me directions to the Days' Inn along with my
pink slip.
KCRC------"ya' shore done good". Many
thanks.
Oh, Ben Oliver (who had broken a lifter-spring on his engine
won one of the two OS 91's..... Keith Watson, will replace
his G-60 2-S with the other one. Curt Diggs will have
a Daddy-Rabbit to keep his Dirty-Birdy company now as he
won the Zimpro DR shortkit. These guys were most
deserving.. congrats winners!
to be continued.......(yawn)

I want to say thanks to just a few of the many
people who made this contest a success! Dennis Hunt assistant CD who
really ran the contest both days. June Cope who did the scoring with
the able assistance of Margaret Hunt. Joe Parrot and his lovely wife
Nancy for providing our great barbeque lunch. Jeryl Zarestky, John
Heard, Mel Zang, Jim Scarborugh, Craig Haney, Rod Godwin, our
transmitter guy Bill and all the KCRC folks who assisted in this
event. I know I have missed some folks and my humble apologies to
them.
A special thanks to Steve Byrum of Cullman Alabama
who furnished the sound system for us.
