Mickey
Walker Honored
July 28th, 2002 Jim McNeill, AMA District
5 Vice-President, presented Mickey Walker with this
beautiful award confirming his induction into the Academy
Model Aeronautics "Model Aviation Hall of Fame" . This
presentation was made at the SPA HotLanta Contest at Dallas,
Georgia, on July 28th, 2002 which Mickey was the Contest
Director. Some 50 people were present to applaud and
congratulate Mickey on his life long contribution to Model
Aviation. For those who know Mickey, this award was well
deserved and could not have gone to a more dedicated person.
Mickey is a member of the Paulding County Model Aviation
Club and serves as Chairman of the Board for the Senior
Pattern Association (SPA) which he founded in March of 1991
and has watched grow to become a special interest group
chartered with the AMA. Mickey has worked hard over the
years to promote Model Aviation not only in Pattern, but
also in free flight, control line, sail planes, helicopters,
pylon racing, and most any thing else that flies. Mickey,
our hats go off to you for your contributions to our beloved
hobby/sport. |
